About the Indico Institute

At the heart of our mission at Indico Institute is the belief that true transformation comes from open dialogues that respect each person’s voice, centre our lived experience and foster mutual understanding.

In a world facing threats to the environment, and the increasing polarisation of political movements, we believe that authentic relational engagement is more important than ever.

In dialogical and reflective processes, working together, new insights and relational possibilities emerge for individuals and organisations. As indico institute we will bring together people from different contexts and countries, creating a relational and cocreative network of learning that informs each person’s own practice and context. We have experienced that this can be transformational in professional and personal lives.

We intend also that it can offer a path for more sustainable and thriving societies, including all living things.

Our approach

Indico Institute training honours and expands the tradition of Open Dialogue training we have developed and delivered over many years,  and evolving them to meet contemporary challenges. We re-emphasize the core values of dialogue and collaboration, cocreating spaces where inequalities of voice and context can be acknowledged. We offer need adapted and context specific trainings, co-creating with our participants to answer the challenge and draw on the wisdom of their own experience and communities.

These times are calling for innovations in our relational support systems and organisations. We bring decades of experience using dialogue together with  families, networks  and organisations. We know intimately  the challenges of working this way in and with traditional systems and institutions, and making those practice and systemic changes from within. By acknowledging and exploring issues of marginalization and power dynamics, we aim to foster inclusive, empowering environments.

Our approach is deeply informed by our dedication to human rights, trauma-sensitive practices, dialogic leadership, eco-dialogical perspectives, and the exploration of inner polyphony and embodiment.

We know that these practices, working to hear and respond to all the voices in times of activation and challenge, have much to offer in other contexts (eg physical or social care settings, peer led organisations, education and leadership), and it is important to us that our trainings are accessible and inclusive.
